Course Description
This course will provide a broad overview of the field of Social Psychology, and how it relates to practical life and to applied situations. The course will provide students with insights into current theories, trends and methods in Social Psychology. We will discuss topics such as the self, gender, interpersonal relations, attitudes, prejudice, and the so-called altruistic and aggressive behaviors. Theories of social cognition will be discussed in depth, complemented by cross-cultural applications and perspectives. A final emphasis will be on the relationship between Social Psychology and Health, Law and Politics.
